The Friends of the Advocacy Center (FoAC) is a community of volunteers working in partnership with the Advocacy Center of Louisiana to support and sustain its mission to protect, empower, and advocate for people with disabilities and seniors throughout Louisiana.

FoAC seeks a diverse, engaged community of members with a passion for the Advocacy Center of Louisiana’s mission, and a commitment to AC sustainability.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Community Outreach – represent AC by staffing information tables at events throughout the state.

Special Events – work with AC staff, board, and fellow volunteers to execute AC’s special events plan.

Fundraising – work with AC staff to raise money for the agency through corporate and foundation prospect research, grant writing, and/or direct mail/online campaigns.

Policy Issues – work with AC staff, board, and fellow volunteers to educate policy makers and the public about issues important to AC constituents.

Landscape & Building Maintenance – work with AC staff to maintain AC’s New Orleans garden and grounds, and perform light building maintenance tasks.

Pro Bono Legal Services – provide legal services for children and youth in special education.
