Help Us Plan

You can help the Advocacy Center in a number of different ways.

Stay Informed: Add your name to our mailing list for the Advocacy Alert. We use this publication to let concerned people know about public issues that may have an impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities or senior citizens. It could be a new law or court decision that you should be aware of. It could be a matter of public debate on an issue, perhaps an opportunity for you to voice your opinion. To put your name on our mailing list, just click here to access our online form which you can complete and submit to the Advocacy Center.

Get Involved: A good way to start is by serving on the Advocacy Center's Board of Directors or Advisory Council, or by nominating someone you know for Board or Council membership. Board and Council members are expected to attend regular meetings and participate in discussions of Advocacy Center work. We need Board and Council members who are people with disabilities, family members of people with disabilities, elderly individuals, advocates interested in the rights of people with disabilities and senior citizens, or attorneys. We also need representatives from the different geographical areas of the state. If you are interested, or know someone who is, you can complete one of our online nomination forms.

Contribute to Advocacy Center work: Donations to support our work are always appropriate, always appreciated. We believe we have competent and committed staff, but our resources are not as great as the needs people bring to us. Your dollars could help us do a little more. Send your check to the Advocacy Center, 1010 Common Street, Suite 2600, New Orleans LA 70112. Click here to contribute a secure online donation.

Tell Us What You Think: We welcome your suggestions and comments on our work. Some of our programs are required to get public input; all of our programs can use feedback and creative ideas. If you'd like to tell us what you think, just click here to access our online form which you can complete and submit to the Advocacy Center.
