Disability Rights Education & Defense Fund (DREDF) seeks to understand what public transportation factors are most important to people with disabilities when deciding which transit mode to use. We hope many people with disabilities across the country will take part in this research by participating in DREDF's survey, which can be found by clicking here: Transportation Survey.
The confidential results of this survey will be part of a national study called Transit Cooperative Research Project B-40: Strategy Guide to Enable and Promote the Use of Fixed-Route Transit by People with Disabilities. The goal is to develop strategies to improve bus and train systems for people with disabilities.
Major areas of study for this project include improving the accessibility of bus and train systems, including the streets and sidewalks used to reach bus stops and train stations; providing optional travel training; and providing fare incentive programs.
If you have questions, you can contact DREDF by emailing MGolden@dredf.org.
