Partner with the Advocacy Center in Supporting the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities!

The U.N. Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (also called the Disability Treaty) is an international agreement to protect and honor the rights of people with disabilities. It is vital that the disability community let Senators know the importance of ratifying the Disability Treaty! Call your Senators today!

Judge Rules: Pitts v. DHH Can Proceed

On May 18, 2011, AC received a positive decision in Pitts v. Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH), which seeks to prevent hundreds of low-income people with severe disabilities from losing services and being institutionalized in nursing facilities. The judge ruled that the suit can proceed to trial, dismissing DHH’s motion for summary judgment.
